Father's Bulletin Letter 4.5.20

Apr 02, 2020

Greetings,

Happy Palm Sunday. If you receive the parish email you would have received information on how to receive palms today (as it was not completely determined before this letter to you needed to be sent on to the printer.) If you have questions concerning palms, please contact the front office during office hours, Monday through Friday at 330-836-2233.

IN OTHER NEWS:

PHONE CALLS: As of this Sunday we will have completed our task of calling all St. Sebastian Parishioners. If you did not receive a call it may mean one of the following:

            1)         You are not registered.

            2)         You have not updated your number with the front office.

            3)         For some reason we were unable to get through.

Fortunately, all of these things are fixable with a quick call to the front office during business hours, Monday through Friday at 330-836-2233. Cathy Sivec will be on hand to:

            1)         Register you for the parish (if you’re not receiving envelopes, we don’t have you on our books.)

            2)         Update your census card for the parish.

            3)         Make sure we can contact you.

As of Monday, most of the people we have contacted are doing well and are well cared for. There were just a couple of people who needed assistance and we also were able to update a number of your records.

STAYING IN CONTACT: There are a number of ways to stay in contact with the parish. You can call the front office or send an email to marketing@stsebastian.org to put your email address on the list to receive this letter and the daily “Angelus Letter,” that will keep you connected and updated during this COVID-19 season.

We have our own YouTube channel which is easily found in your search engine. If that doesn’t work, go to our webpage at https://www.stsebastian.org, click on “Church” at the top of the screen, and then click on the “Learn More” button under “Stay Connected to our Parish.”

HOLY WEEK & TRIDUUM: News will be coming out very soon on how we will be handling Holy Week and the Triduum along with times to watch it on-line with live-streaming. Also, you may watch these ceremonies being live streamed from our Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist. For more information go to dioceseofcleveland.org.

SHOUT OUT TO THE MEN OF ST. IRENE HOUSE: We just started the St. Irene House for young men. Then this whole virus thing hit and we have not been able to do much for them. I feel terrible about that and ask you to offer up a prayer for them!

CHURCH: The church remains open thanks to our trusty and brave volunteers! But even if you are just driving by, you can pull over and say a prayer as the tabernacle can be seen through our front doors. Say a prayer for the parish and all those affected by the COVID-19 virus and say a special prayer to St. Sebastian who is traditionally invoked against plagues and contagious diseases.

God bless you and thank you for all that you are doing during this time.

Fr. Valencheck
