Christopher James Consilio Memorial Scholarship Endowment

Feb 17, 2021

The St. Sebastian Parish Foundation is pleased to announce the establishment of the Christopher James Consilio Student Enrichment Award. This award will provide funding to teachers for curriculum-based student enrichment activities/supplies at St. Sebastian Parish School and St. Vincent-St. Mary High School, with an emphasis on the subjects of foreign language and history.

Foreign language and history were the favorite subjects of Christopher Consilio, in whose memory the award is named. Christopher was a graduate of both St. Sebastian Parish School (2011) and St. Vincent-St. Mary High School (2015), and his family is pleased to support these schools that fostered his love of learning.

The Student Enrichment Award will be offered annually, with applications for awards of up to $1,000 being accepted through March this year with an award being granted by May . Teachers who submit applications will be asked to explain how the activity or supplies they would like to purchase would help bring the subject to life, through a special book, a unique project, field trip, subject-matter expert, speaker, etc.

The award is the second effort funded by the Christopher James Consilio Memorial Scholarship Endowment. The first was the Christopher James Consilio Memorial Scholarship, which is a one-time scholarship for a graduate(s) of St. Sebastian Parish School to be used toward freshman year tuition at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School. This scholarship was established in October, 2020 and will be awarded for the first time in March, 2021.
