The St. Sebastian Parish School Center for Early Learning provides a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where young children grow academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. As an integral part of St. Sebastian Parish School and our parish’s mission, we support each child’s development within a Christ-centered foundation that celebrates curiosity, kindness, and faith.

We create an environment that challenges each child to explore, discover, and create, while modeling the Christian values that the Catholic Church teaches. The center is viewed as a precursor to, but not a requirement of, the child’s enrollment at St. Sebastian Parish School.

We currently offer the following classes:

  • 3 Year Old Half-Day Program (M,T,W,TH)
  • Pre-K Full-Day and Half-Day Program (4/5 year olds), 3 classes available (M,T,W,Th,F)
  • Half-Day Schedule: 8 am - 11 am
  • Full-Day Schedule: 8 am - 2:30 pm
  • Aftercare options available for full day preschool students.

Goals of the Center:

  • Support the spiritual, social-emotional, cognitive, and physical growth of every child in a caring Christ-centered environment
  • Inspire a lifelong love of learning and creativity
  • Help children develop confidence, independence, and readiness for the elementary school experience
  • Partner with families to support each child’s unique potential and growth

Curriculum:

The Center for Early Learning fosters a child’s learning through free play, group time activities, outdoor /indoor gross motor activities and learning centers. The teacher will guide the child’s development and learning by creating an environment that allows the child to explore, create and discover and will instruct in large groups, small groups and individually.

The staff at St. Sebastian Center for Early Learning follow the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland Pre-Kindergarten Curriculum and Academic Guidelines which meet and exceed the early learning standards for the State of Ohio Department of Education.

Teacher/Child Ratios:

We typically observe the following staff to student ratios. Ratios will depend on final registration.

  • 1 to 6 or 1 to 8 (4/5s)
  • 1 to 6 (3s)
