Father's Bulletin Letter - 12.28.2025
Dec 26, 2025
Greetings,
As we continue to celebrate the Christmas season, we find ourselves just a few days away from turning the calendars over to 2026 and so let me say, “HAPPY NEW YEAR!” New Year’s Day is also known as the Solemnity of Mary the Mother of God and is a Holy Day of Obligation.
Here is the Mass schedule to help kick-off 2026 on the right foot:
Mary, the Mother of God
- Wednesday, December 31 - Vigil at 7pm Fr. Valencheck
- Thursday, January 1 at 9am Fr. Valencheck
- Thursday, January 1 at 7pm Fr. Marcelli
IN OTHER NEWS:
OFFICES CLOSED: Please be aware that the parish offices will be closed from Wednesday, December 31 through Friday, January 2.
THANK YOU: Thank you to the many people who helped make our Christmas celebrations a success: cleaners, polishers, maintenance, servers, lectors, EMHC, ushers, singers, musicians, coordinator and schedulers, sacristans, designers, livestreamers, decorators and those who lent their brute strength to move things, those who maintain the flowers and plants and those who carry on with the day to day business of the parish so that we can focus on Christmas. Also thank you to those who pray for the parish and support her ministry with your generosity in any way you might do that. What a blessing this Christmas was. Thank you and God bless you.
BRAVI: Congratulations to David Uschold and the members of our choir and the choir of St. Mary Hudson for a marvelous concert. I was not expecting an orchestra of that size! What a marvelous treat. Your hard work and dedication was evident. And in spite of the horrendous weather, there were still a little over 200 people in attendance. I am sorry if the weather kept you away. I know my family could not make it in and I was sad for them that they missed such a great event.
If you or your business or institution would like to become a sponsor of the Musical Arts Series at St. Sebastian, which provides musical opportunities for audiences and families, contact Mr. David Uschold at (330) 836-2233 for more information. The Musical Arts Series’ concerts are largely free and open to the public. Help support beauty in our community.
CONFESSIONS: There will be confessions this coming Friday, January 2 from 4-5pm.
ST. SEBASTIAN DAY: Our celebration of St. Sebastian Day will be on the weekend of January 17 and 18. To continue the festivities of the Parish Festival which takes place in the summer, there will be a fun Casino Night on January 16 and a Spaghetti Dinner on January 17. Please see the bulletin elsewhere for more information.
God bless,
Fr. Valencheck
