Father's Bulletin Letter - 11.16.2025
Nov 14, 2025
Greetings,
This weekend we are having sign-ups for St. Sebastianites to adopt an hour of adoration which takes place on Tuesdays following the morning Mass until 8pm. Our Eucharistic Lord is present on our altar for you to visit and pray. In order to keep this great tradition going, we need to make sure that all hours are covered by at least two people so that Our Lord is not exposed unattended on our altar.
At all Masses this weekend and until we have a good roster, there will be a sign-up sheet on the altar rail near the Blessed Virgin Mary statue. One may adopt an hour at the top of the hour or at the bottom. I am hoping for a minimum of two persons here at all times. That helps if one person is ill or delayed or some such thing.
Our most needful times appear to be between the hours of 4pm and 6:30pm. In the summertime, when school is out and many households go on vacation, earlier hours are sometimes a concern, but for these winter months, these are our most needed. But all of the hours need to be filled. Thank you for your prayerful consideration.
IN OTHER NEWS:
SEMINARIANS: Next weekend there will be twelve seminarians visiting St. Sebastian. They will serve Mass and a representative will speak during the 9am Sunday Mass. They will head over to the rectory where Marcy Smith will prepare a brunch for them. One of the seminarians will also speak at the 11am Mass. Please keep our seminarians and vocations in general in your prayers!
THEOLOGY ON THE ROCKS: Monday, November 17 our very own Keith Johnson will be speaking on, “Protestant Questions, Catholic Answers”. For those who may be unaware, before his conversion to the faith, Keith was a Protestant minister. That should make for an interesting perspective on the matter. Check elsewhere in the bulletin for details.
NIGHT AT THE RACES: This is a night to support our outstanding sports program. Mark your calendars for Saturday, November 22. This fundraiser helps offset costs from the St. Sebastian CYO sports’ seasons. It allows our Young Terriers to compete with updated equipment, new uniforms, and in a gym in which we are proud to compete. Consider joining in on the fun evening and supporting our athletes. Thank you Sports Boosters for all that you do.
EXPLORER DAY: This day is for prospective kindergartners and their families to explore our parish school. Friday, November 21 from 8:15am – 10am and reservations are a must! Either call the school or sign up online.
PLAYGROUND PROJECT: On December 2 we will participate in #wegivecatholic. The funds are going to help update part of our playground, which is quickly nearing the end of its expected lifespan evidenced by yearly repairs that are occurring. For more information, please contact Kathy Holaday at holadayk@stsebastian.org.
God bless,
Fr. Valencheck
