Extraordinary Ministers
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMHCs) distribute the Body and Blood of Christ during Mass. In addition, they minister to shut-ins, hospitals, convalescent homes and senior citizen facilities.
EMHCs are always needed on Holy Days of Obligation. Typically, the Vigil Mass is at 6:00PM, morning Mass at 9:00AM and Evening Mass at 6:00PM. Plan to arrive a little early for Mass on Holy Days and sign in to help distribute.
Extra Ministers are always needed Saturdays at 4:30PM. Any Minister attending that Mass, please check the sign-up in the sacristy before Mass.
Remember, EMHCs of both species, cup and host, may assist other ministers at other positions when finished with their original assigned position. Also, cup ministers may ask people in the pews to help consume precious blood – it is not necessary to return to the credence table to consume what is left over – not every minister is able to assist.
