Organ Fund
Dear Parishioners,
An extraordinary opportunity was afforded us this past year. Finding ourselves with a rapidly deteriorating pipe organ and having to make significant and expensive repairs, we were given the chance to greatly improve and expand our pipe organ for not terribly much more than it would have cost simply to repair what we had. It was too good to pass up.
Knowing that many requests were being made of you these past few months, there was no great push in asking for funds. Just the same, through passive requests we have raised approximately two thirds of the funds needed for the project in donations and pledges, a full 25% of the completed project so far being paid for by non-parishioners and in a few cases, non-Catholics.
This letter is the one, formal, individual, request that I have made for the organ. I know we have just finished the Diocesan Capitol Campaign and your generous Sunday gifts have enabled us to begin making significant repairs to our grounds and hire a Director of Religious Education (DRE). I want you to know that I am aware of this as I request one more thing of those of you who are in a position to do so: make a donation toward the organ restoration and expansion. Whatever you can do – even prayer – will be greatly appreciated.
For those who wish to donate, now is a better time than ever because every dollar you give will be doubled by a matching grant up to $100,000. This is the amount set aside within the Foundation to help raise the final funds needed to complete the organ. The Foundation, an independent corporation with its own board, has voted to provide funds to encourage the final push on this project. Please consider taking advantage of this great opportunity.
